hand, had all of the volunteers of the boston marathon there, firefighters, mayor, all that kind of stuff. very moving, actually. i think dish dent know if there was a dry eye in the place. >> then there was this... ♪ sweet caroline note woo woo woo. >> and neil diamond came and sang sweet caroline, huge supplies. it was a blast. >> after a week of terror, this is exactly what boston needed. warren grew up in sacramento, already family in the bay area was worried about her. >> i got a tex monday making sure i wasn't at the marathon. and then the texted me yesterday making sure i stayed inside. so they have been checking up. >> and lauren, like the rest of boston, is doing much better now. after all, they're boston strong. >> and the energy was just incredible at fenway. they were passing out stickers

that said boston strong, and giving out flags that say, believe in boston. i think we do. live in boston, ama daetz, abc7 news. >> thank you. as the city of boston starts to get back to normal, we're learning more about what it took to track down the suspects. the five-day nightmare ended last night when dzhokar tsarnaev was found in the back of a boat in the back yard of a home. when he was found he initially refused to come out of the boat. >> you could tell he was alive and moving, and we began the negotiations that way, and over a long period of time we were able to finally get him to surrender. >> in an expliews -- exclusive interview, neighbor of towboat owner, described the chaos. >> yelling: get out, get out, get out. >> the suspect was rushed to the hospital and watertown residents gathered in the streets streetsr the law enforcement. the younger brother remains

in the hospital right now. 19-year-old dzhokar tsarnaev is in serious bit stable condition. authorities say he is unlikely to be able to communicate yet. >> the fbi has updated his wanted poster to say, captured, under his picture. a public defender will represent him in court. he is expected to be charged under federal law, which means he could face the death penalty, and will also be questioned without having miranda rights read to hem. authorities invoked a rare public safety exception to do that. the officials are searching the apartment the two brothers shared, and dzhokar also lived in a dormitory at umass. friends say he partied at their dorm wednesday night, two nights after the attack. >> the uncle's talk about his nephew's arrest and blames the older brother. >> he used his younger brother. he wasted his life.

i understand he messed up his own. and i don't know what was going on there but he messed up his life. that's why he decided to take lives of innocent people. >> the uncle says he hopes dzhokar seeks forgiveness for hearding so many people. >> safety is a top priority at at&t park. sergio quintana is live with the details. reporter: the fans today are getting into at&t park a whole lot easier than they were able to yesterday. you can see right now there is a little bit of crowd here going in. the game has just started. but i'll tell you, one of the things that is happening to get crowds in, is that at&t park staff is not individually wanding each and every person going in. >> everyone carrying a bag did have to have its contents searched before going into the

park, and there was a visible police presence, including the bomb-sniffing bomb squad. but as soon as the doors opened the crowded started getting in easily. giants fans said they did a little extra planning to avoid the long lines that happened yesterday. >> it was crvmentz security was really tough. a lot more lenient today. the line was around the thing so we showed up superearly today. >> today we came a couple hours early, and luckily we're getting right no. we waited 20 minutes and they just opened all the gates and still have the security measures but everybody is walking in. reporter: every once na while there is a little backup as people have to have their bags searched. there will some fans yesterday who were wrapped around the park, basically, as they were waiting in line. there were some people who were not able to make it in until well past an hour after the first pitch was thrown yesterday

afternoon. today that is a whole different story. people getting into at&t park a whole lot easier. sergio quintana, abc7 news. >> new at 6:00. north vallejo is returning to the fields need. were locked down yesterday after an argument among t-ball parents led to shots being fired in the parking lot. officials say it's not the first incident of gunfire. at a parents' meeting today the league decided games will continue as scheduled. alameda county is putting 11 sheriff's deputies off the street -- pulling them off the streets of oakland because of disagreements over who should pay for what. deputies he happened oakland city officers on weekend patrol since february. tonight will be the last time that happens. alameda county will not renew the contract with oakland. >> the workers comp costs, equipment has been damaged

during our time in oakland, and all that stuff we have to front, and we wanted oakland to absorb some of the costs. >> the final straw came last month when a deputy was shot in the foot. oakland refused to pay for his care and time off. the city will ask the chp to help out and will re-deploy officers. the oakland police department is at its lowest staffing level in ten years. >> breaking news out of southern california where a brush fire is burning out of control. these are live pictures of the fire the san gabriel mountains near the city of monrovia. 100 homes have been evacuated as precaution. the fire has burned 150-acres so far. fire officials say steep terrain and thick brush make the flames hard to put out. we'll bring you updates. >> still to come at 6:00, a plane and a vineyard. how this aircraft ended up, upsid down, and what happened to the pilot. who is responsible for

new details from texas. some residents of the town of west are being allowed to return to their homes. however a stiff curfew is being enforced. >> a scary accident in santa rosa. a pilot crashed his plane updied down at 10:00 this morning in a vineyard. emergency responders arrived to find the plane upside-down. the pilot said he was having trouble with the throttle. >> air traffic controllers will begin taking fur lows, or unpaid leave tomorrow, unless a federal court steps in. airline and pilot groups are asking the court to stop the furloughs, claiming they will cause major delays. the faa counters it had to begin

a judge has ordered bpa be removed phloem state's list of reproductive toxins. last week it was put on a list of chemicals that cause cancer or birth defects but the chemical industry says it does not cause birth defects. a lawsuit was filed by the american chemistry counsel. -- council. bpa is used in plastics and metal food containers. >> may not be available until 2020 the dmv want yours input how to regulate driverless cars. google has been testing the cars

50 degrees 51 in oakland overnight. 51 in antioch and 47 in morgan hill. here is the outlook. high pressure continuing to build in. check out the storm track well to the north of us. that's where all the rain is. don't expect any rain here in the bay area for the next five to seven, maybe even as much as ten days out. but until then, high pressure will continue to build in. going to keep the clouds well off the coast so expect clear sky tonight and tomorrow and as the high build in, the temperatures will build in, monday and tuesday, the warmest days. oakland, low 80s, and then start to trend down a bit. and interior east bay, towards livermore tomorrow, 87. close to 90 monday, tuesday, wednesday, thursday. you see the sea breeze will return and temperatures will start to come down.
